Spring is Here!! At last...

At last it's getting warmer and the birds are visiting us. Today we had redpolls eating nyger seeds and arguing with the goldfinches and siskins as to who needs the most. We hadn't seen Repolls in the garden before and it took a bit of detective work with the bird books to identify them - we've also had linnets and they are pretty similar until you get your eye in!!

We also had a Redstart hit our window. He was dazed for about ten minutes and we thought he wasn't going to make it but he suddenly sat up and flew off into the bushes - hurrah!!
