Take care not to follow your sat nav as they often want to take you over the mountain roads. If coming along the A40 use Llanwrda and Lampeter as ‘via’ points and if coming from the midlands, it’s better to go via Rhayader than Abergwesyn - see note below. If coming south on the A470 then use Ponterwyd as a via point
There is NO mobile signal going over the mountain roads so take a map!!
From Aberystwyth – continue straight over the small bridge and Y Talbot will be in front of you
From Devil’s Bridge/Pontrhydfendigaid – at the crossroads with The Red Lion on your right, turn left over the bridge and Y Talbot will be in front of you
From Lampeter - at the crossroads with the Chip Shop on your right, turn right over the bridge and Y Talbot will be in front of you
From Llanddewi Brefi – on entering Tregaron, Y Talbot will be on your right
With Y Talbot Inn in front of you, take the left hand small road signposted 'Abergwesyn' and 'Soar y Mynydd'
Follow this road for about 0.4 mile then turn right at the no-through road sign - there's a small 'Ysgubor' sign there to follow
Go past the stables and continue along this lane for about 0.7 mile (it feels further the first time you come) and we will be on your left hand side (there is a yellow sunflower painted on the shed door)
If coming over the mountain road from LLanwrtyd Wells / Abergwesyn / Llyn Brianne, continue for a couple of hundred metres past the Black and White entranceway posts of Cwm Nant - Equitrek. You will pass over a small stone bridge, turn left immediately after, it’s a no through road (If you get to the Tregaron Village Sign you've gone too far) Go past the stables and continue along this lane for about 0.7 mile – it feels further the first time you come - and we will be on your left hand side (there is a yellow sunflower painted on the shed door)
If it is dark when you arrive, there are automatic lights which come on as you drive in
Our house is the white cottage next to the road, Ysgubor Holiday Cottage is the driveway just before it – please pop into us for the key
